@thealbrechtwolf @roadblock_nw @dfinity Concurrency/context switching will slow down perf until highly optimized, then will make much less I/O bound. Most CPU load created by sig verification (similar situation in Ethereum...). Lots updates before production . Throughput small fraction what will see on 1 chain/shard.
